Mark Walsh returns at Tipperary Mark Walsh makes a welcome return to action at Tipperary on Thursday following eight weeks out with a broken arm. Walsh held a clear lead in the jockeys' championship until fracturing his left arm in a fall from the Mick Winters-trained Winter Breeze at Thurles back in February, and coincidentally, he again teams up with Winters on his first ride back from that injury. Bitsandpieces, who carries the Rebel Fitz colours of Brian Sweetnam, made a very promising debut at Thurles earlier this year when beating all bar Goulane Chosen, and looks the one to be on if handling this faster surface in the Follow @TipperaryRaces On Twitter Maiden Hurdle. That form received a timely boost when Voisey's Bay, 20 lengths adrift in third, scored at Tipperary last week. Ruby Walsh has made the most of Mark Walsh's absence to go five ahead (73-68) in the title race, and the multiple champion also has his sole ride on the seven-race mixed card in this three-mile maiden. The Willie Codd-trained Bothermenot is Ruby's mount and the dual point-to-point winner looked in need of this trip when staying on into second behind Corporate Box at Tramore last time. On the Flat section of the card, Aidan and Joseph O'Brien could team up for a double with Washington DC and King Of Aragon. The Ballydoyle maestro often takes a few weeks in the new turf season before striking top form, but a double at Cork on Monday was certainly a positive sign and the recent dry spell should also be in their favour. Washington DC turns out quite quickly after filling the runner-up spot at Dundalk last Friday, while King Of Aragon probably ran into a decent enough sort when second to Edelpour at Gowran Park earlier this month.
