Easy-to-back Gavoo (7/2) made light of his draw out in stall twelve to take the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden, the opener at Listowel.

Not too many of runners here managed to land a telling blow, and the front quartet were in those positions from some way out.

For the David Marnane yard Luke McAteer got Curragh second placer Gavoo home by three parts of a length from well-backed favourite Fresh Fade (4/1 into 5/2). The pair drew seven and a half lengths clear of the third, Yours Sincerely (16/1 into 15/2).

"He is a very nice two-year-old, we've always liked him and we fancied him to run a big race on his debut at the Curragh, where he ran well. That race has worked out well and he has improved. He is quite lazy so I'd say there is plenty of improvement left in him," said Marnane.

"He has the size to be a three-year-old and he isn't a horse to be getting lofty about yet, so we'll pick our spot with him now. He should improve a lot though, and I think he will end up being a very good horse.

"When he works at home, he works real well and he is the perfect model."

D. McMonagle, rider of Summer Is Tomorrow trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount took a check at the furlong pole.

P.A. Harnett, rider of Elora Prince trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran green in the middle part of the race and he dropped his reins in the straight.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Invincible Rocket trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got hampered leaving the backstraight, entering the home straight and had to check both times.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Summer Is Tomorrow, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed fifth, and Elora Prince, ridden by P.A. Harnett, placed sixth, where it appeared Summer Is Tomorrow ran short of room momentarily. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle stated that he wasn't in the gap when Elora Prince crossed over but he ended up running into the back of him. P.A. Harnett stated that he dropped his reins but corrected his mount as soon as he could. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident leaving the backstraight involving Echo Of Faith ridden by S. Foley, placed fourth, Elora Prince, ridden by P.A. Harnett, placed sixth, and Invincible Rocket, ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced, where it appeared C.D. Hayes had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D. Hayes stated that it got congested on the point of the bend. S. Foley stated that he didn't contribute to the incident. P.A. Harnett stated that his mount was very green and shied away from the horse on his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
