Marshal among Vintage Stakes nine Aidan O'Brien will rely upon Air Vice Marshal to give him back-to-back victories in the Qatar Vintage Stakes at Goodwood on Tuesday. The Ballydoyle trainer won the Group Two for the first time last year with Highland Reel and goes for a repeat with the War Front colt. He gets the chance to reverse Superlative Stakes form with Birchwood, who beat Air Vice Marshal by a length in the Newmarket Group Two earlier this month. Birchwood, trained by Richard Fahey, is one of two Godolphin-owned runners along with Strong Challenge. Saeed bin Suroor's charge opened his account over six furlongs on this course eight weeks ago. Mark Johnston is double-handed with Beaverbrook and Welford, while others in a nine-runner line-up are Galileo Gold, Ibn Malik, Palawan and Twin Sails.
