Martin eyes another lucrative season for Fly Tony Martin's Anibale Fly is set for a campaign that will culminate again in bids for the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Aintree Grand National. JP McManus' nine-year-old gelding was last seen finishing fifth in the Aintree showpiece behind Tiger Roll in April. He was also fourth to the same rival in the 2018 renewal and has been placed in the last two Cheltenham Gold Cups, including when staying on well for second behind Al Boum Photo in March. The trainer said: “He’s summered well and you’d be delighted with him. I’d be hoping to get a spin into him in about a month or so and then get him out at Leopardstown over Christmas and go from there. “There is the Gold Cup and the National again and hopefully we get there.” Anibale Fly has earned over €500,000 in 24 races that has seen him accrue seven victories, including at Grade 3 level over fences.
