Ado McGuinness is eyeing possible late-season engagements in the Ebor or the Cesarewitch for Tribal Star after a placed effort in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle.

The four-year-old son of Sea The Stars made late headway for fourth in that valuable handicap and, although he holds an entry in the Bet365 Trophy at Newmarket next week, looks likely to remain at home for the time being before crossing the Irish Sea again.

The trainer said: "He won't go to Newmarket.

"He just got into the Plate on the all-weather mark and I'd love him up another couple of pound to get into some of these big handicaps.

"We might either go to Fairyhouse next week or Killarney, and then that will leave us for the likes of the Ebor or the Cesarewitch and all those big races for big pots. He is going to win one of them at some stage.

"He ran very well last week and I was delighted with him."

On Apache Outlaw and Go Athletico, who have entries in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket next week, he added: "I can't see them going, I think they are going to struggle because of the ground and everything.

"We will stay at home where we have them in the Scurry (at Curragh).

"Go Athletico is down (in the weights) and he could end up in Galway for the seven (furlong premier handicap) on the Sunday.

"He likes a little bit of juice and we probably shouldn't have run him last Sunday (in Curragh), it got too quick. He won't run on quick ground anymore."
