McGuinness readying team for Champions Weekend Adrian McGuinness is readying his team for Champions Weekend, which takes place on September 11th and 12th. The Co Dublin handler has enjoyed plenty of success so far this year, landing two valuable handicaps at the Galway Festival, while also claiming a Group 3 contest at Naas. He now has his sights set on further glory on Champions Weekend, with stable star A Case Of You set to take part in the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes. McGuinness said: "A Case Of You will go for the Group 1 Flying Five. He did a nice bit of work the other day and I'm very happy with him. "I think we are going to get some rain before Champions Weekend and some juice in the ground would help him. It's a step up but it's a step up for most of the horses here in Ireland into that class. "I was very happy with his last run giving weight to the other three-year-old's. Hopefully he'll run a big race." McGuinness also has plenty of handicappers in contention for some valuable prizes at Leopardstown and the Curragh respectively. He added: "Saltonstall, Sirjack Thomas and Star Harbour will go for the Northfields Handicap over a mile and two on the Sunday at the Curragh. "Pierre Lapin and Dream Today will go for the seven furlongs race (Sovereign Path at Leopardstown) and I’m very happy with them. "Dream Today had a little bit of a setback after he won but I was very happy with his comeback run so I'm looking forward to him. I think a bend will suit him better."
