McKeever fined after long running cobalt case Trainer Graham McKeever has been fined £1,500 after a long running case concerning a positive test for cobalt following Balnaslow's win in the 2018 Foxhunters Chase at Aintree. The horse has also now been officially disqualified after officials found double the limit for cobalt in his system after the race. A British Horseracing Authority hearing was told that McKeever was unaware of the positive test until investigators arrived in his yard in May 2018. McKeever said he could not provide evidence to back up his view that feed may have been contaminated.
