Meade targets Glencairn Stakes with Layfayette Six-time Stakes winner Layfayette bids to get back on track at Leopardstown on Thursday where the Noel Meade-trained eight-year-old contests the 1m1f Listed Glencairn Stakes. Winner at Group 2 level in 2022, the son of French Navy was placed at Group 3 level last October and reappeared wearing a first-time tongue-tie at Leopardstown last month, where he finished last of the six runners, having been slowly away. Meade reports "the problem with Layfayette is the place to run him, he was supposed to go to Sandown during the week and it was good to firm again so we didn't go there. He's in terrific form if we just got the conditions and the race. "I was tempted to run him in the mile and six race (handicap at Curragh on Wednesday), but we have Helvic Dream and Zoffman for that.” Layfayette is one of eight declared runners, with Dylan Browne McMonagle booked to ride.
