David Marnane's Elleval will be next seen in the Meld Stakes at Leopardstown on July 25th before a likely journey across the Atlantic for a crack at the Secretariat Stakes at Arlington in August.

The three-year-old son of Kodiac raced in Dubai in the early part of this year, winning on his first start there before rounding off his spell at Meydan by finishing a fine second to Lines Of Battle in the Group 2 UAE Derby on Dubai World Cup night.

He made his return to action here at the Curragh on Saturday, finishing a close up fifth to Count Of Limonade in the Listed Celebration Stakes, and his trainer now has bigger targets on his mind.

Marnane said this afternoon; "It was his first run back, he ran very well and he should come on for the run.

"I was particularly pleased with the way he travelled and it was great that he came straight back with a good run after Dubai.

"He is entered in the Meld Stakes at Leopardstown and that’s where he will go next.

"Provided he shows up well there he will then go for the Secretariat Stakes in Arlington (17th August). That is over a mile and a quarter on the inside turf track and he stays well."
