There was a second 50/1 shocker at Dundalk today when Mo Mhuirin got the nod in another tight finish, to the fillies' maiden.

The Andy Slattery-trained filly was easy to back on her debut run but belied those odds to make a winning start.

Sent off the 5/6 favourite under Colin Keane, Guardian Of Realm made the running in the mile contest and was asked for an effort passing the two pole.

The Juddmonte filly hung right over a furlong from home and was joined in the closing stages as Mo Mhuirin picked up well for Ben Coen.

There was little between them as they passed the post with the photo showing that the newcomer had prevailed by a nose.

Slattery said: "I told anyone to back her today each-way.

"She’s a nice filly. She needs a bit of time, Ben said she is still very green.

"We have her about two months and we liked her, she was in pre-training.

"She hasn't disappointed and she's not finished yet."
