The Charles Weld-trained Millhone (4/1) ran away with the Return Of The Jumps At Navan Racecourse September 19th Handicap (Div 2) at Navan over a mile and two furlongs.

Placed on her last four runs, the Ghaiyyath filly, like many winners today, was positioned in second during this contest until she made her bid for glory over two furlongs out.

Owned by the Weld family and Nick Hitchins, this blinkered filly got first run on her rivals and saw out the stiff finish well to win by two and three-quarter lengths from the frustrating favourite Connova (100/30). Nibras Rainbow (9/1) finished six lengths behind the winner in third.

Jockey Rory Mulligan said "She has been knocking on the door this last couple of months. I'm after being placed on her four times, I think.

"She's improving plenty through it - she's a Ghaiyyath, she is going to take a bit of time.

"I was placed on her the last day over 1m6f here, so I thought I needed to make plenty of use of her. I quickened down the hill and kicked her on up it and she galloped out to the line.

"Navan is stiff, it is a long straight here, but she is good and genuine and she stays galloping well, so I knew I needed to make plenty of use of her."
