Miss Gitana another front-runner that refuses to be passed Leigh Roche was another jockey to get the fractions spot on off the front aboard Gordon Elliott's Miss Gitana (5/1) in the Tote Never Beaten By SP Handicap over two miles in Tramore. The 5/1 shot had work to do to get home inside the final couple of furlongs, but found for Roche and stayed on to fend off Sequoiaspirit (15/2) by half a length. Curious Bride was a just a neck further away in third at 6/1. This was Miss Gitana's fourth run on the level in Ireland and her first success in this jurisdiction to go with two victories on the Flat in Britain. Roche said: "I was talking to Chris Hayes and Declan McDonogh before the race. Chris said she ran very well the day he rode her and that he didn't make enough use of her. Declan thought the same and that the step up in trip would suit her. "I got my own way in front. The second time around, up around the hill, I got a good breather into her. She is not overly big, but she is genuine, tough and fit. Like Gordon's horses, once they get their way they are hard to pass. "If the handicapper isn't too hard on her, she might pick up another one I think." Additional reporting by Donal Murphy
