Moloney suffers broken leg at Ludlow Leading jumps rider Paul Moloney suffered a broken leg in a fall at Ludlow on Wednesday. Moloney was partnering Kudu Country for his boss Evan Williams in the Tony Rickards Birthday Handicap Chase, in which there were several early casualties. Kudo Country fell at the first, bringing down the favourite, Jayo Time, before Vivaccio came down at the second fence, with My Brother Sylvest falling at the third All the horses and other jockeys appeared unscathed, but Moloney is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. "He's on his way to Hereford hospital," said Williams. "He's broken his leg below the knee. "I'm absolutely gutted for him, but he couldn't be in better hands. "Obviously we'll know more in time." Moloney, who has finished fourth in the last two Grand Nationals aboard Alvarado, and was second in the 2013 running with Cappa Bleu and fourth in 2012, has ridden 45 winners this season.
