Monarch possible for Irish Champ Imperial Monarch could have the Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 8 as his major big-race target at the end of the season. The Galileo colt has won three of his four career starts, including the Grand Prix de Paris when last seen. His only defeat also came in France when he met trouble in running in the Prix du Jockey Club, but Aidan O'Brien insists he has plenty of options going forward. "He had a little break after France, he's just back going again," said O'Brien on At The Races. "He's been left in the Voltigeur and the Juddmonte and it's very possible he might turn up in the Irish Champion Stakes or something like that. "Joseph (O'Brien) felt he didn't like being in front the last day as he was a bit babyish but he was brave. "That was his first run over a mile and a half, he got it well. "He's a lovely horse, progressive and we're really happy with him. "Stamina usually comes out when they have class, and he has class, they are versatile and he's a horse to look forward to."
