Ryan Moore will miss the Ebor Festival at York this week after breaking his wrist in a fall at Warwick on Tuesday evening.

Moore was riding Cresta Star for Richard Hannon in the Chieftain Fabrics Handicap when they slipped up two furlongs out and came crashing down.

He appeared to be fine as he walked back to the weighing room, but confirmed to Betfair on Wednesday morning that his left wrist was broken and in a cast.

"I don't know the full extent of the problem until I go and see my normal doctor in Oxford, but I'll obviously be out for a while," he said.

"I went to Warwick hospital last night to get the wrist looked at. They x-rayed it and put a cast on it. I was in and out in no time.

"The annoying thing is that it was a soft fall, far softer than Goodwood. But I landed on my left wrist - it was the right one that gave me problems at Goodwood."

Moore's ride on Thomas Chippendale in the Great Voltigeur has been taken by Paul Hanagan.
