The Willie Mullins trained Mount Sinai got favourite backers off to a flying start, when staying on best under Brian Hayes to win the opening Westcare Home Care Claiming Hurdle at Sligo.

Sent off 1/1f, the daughter of Mount Nelson tracked leader Must Meet Cecil for most of the race. Coming through to lead entering the straight, the seven-year-old went away to win by two-and-a-half lengths.

With the early leader Must Meet Cecil weakening after the last, Oh So Charming came through under James O'Sullivan to fill the runner-up spot. .

Hayes said: “It was a great bit of placing and it’s job done, to come here and try and win that race and get a few quid for winning.

“If she’s claimed so be it. She was very well treated at the weights but it’s not always as simple as that.

“It was straightforward. She has plenty of experience from handicapping and over fences. She did everything right.”

Mount Sinai was subsequently claimed by Shark Hanlon for 4k.
