Next month's Moyglare Stud Stakes has been "pencilled in" as a likely target for Now Or Never following an excellent effort at the Curragh on Sunday.

Runner-up on her Fairyhouse debut before an impressive victory at the Galway Festival, the daughter of Bushranger stepped up to Group Two level against the boys in the Futurity Stakes.

Having cut out much of the running, Now Or Never was mowed down late by the similarly promising Herald The Dawn, but stuck to her guns to finish a clear second.

Trainer Michael O'Callaghan said: "I was delighted with how she ran. She had to do it the hard way, but she's such a game filly and so tough.

"If you'd given us that result 10 days ago we'd definitely have taken it.

"The competitive side of me wants to win, but if you're not like that you're in the wrong game.

"It was only her third ever start and I think she's probably the first filly in Ireland this year to take on the colts at that level.

"She'll probably go to the Moyglare now. That's what we've pencilled in, but we'll keep our options open.

"I think she can go anywhere between six furlongs and a mile - she's pretty versatile - and we've something to build on.

"She'll be a genuine miler next year and it's great to have her in the yard."
