Mozzies Sister returns to winning ways at Wexford A year on from her last success at Galway, Grade 1-placed Mozzies Sister proved much too good for her three rivals in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Hurdle at Wexford. As short as 4/6 in early shows for this two-and-a-half mile contest, the Declan Queally-trained bay was eventually sent off a 7/4 chance in the colours of the For The Love Of It Syndicate. Content to track the leaders in third, the 132-rated victor moved into contention from three out and assumed command approaching the next, ultimately sauntering to a 13-length win, despite an untidy jump at the last. From 13/8 in early shows, Dream On Baby was returned the 4/7 favourite and she finished second, while Workinonadream was another 20 lengths away in third. "The plan was to follow Donagh (Meyler, on Dream On Baby). She was quick enough over her hurdles, maybe a bit sticky at times, but she was pretty good overall," winning rider Alex Harvey reflected. "I thought I'd outstay Donagh as it looked a two horse race on paper with Gordon's (Getaway Beo) coming out. I was happy enough to let her roll on plenty early and do Donagh for stamina. It worked out well and she did it well. "Declan's horses are very fit, he does a great job with them and I knew she'd gallop up the hill pretty well. Thankfully it worked out. "She is very clever when getting tight to her hurdles, she might lack a bit of scope, but she is very clever to put her feet right. "As time goes on the ground is only going to get softer and I think she's a proper good two-and-a-half miler who could stay three miles if rode accordingly."
