Murphy a Hennessy doubt

Timmy Murphy could miss the ride on Our Father in the Hennessy Gold Cup after injuring his shoulder in unclear circumstances.

Murphy was seen at his brilliant best at the Berkshire venue on Thursday when partnering Ifbutandwhynot to victory in the Gerry Feilden Hurdle and had been looking forward to renewing his partnership with David Pipe's grey in Saturday's feature contest.

However, the jockey was seen getting into an ambulance in considerable pain before the final race on Friday's card amidst rumours that he had dislocated a shoulder.

Murphy only had one ride at the meeting aboard the Pauline Robson-trained Upsilon Bleu, which finished fourth in the bet365 Open Handicap Chase.

It is a remarkable dose of repeat bad luck for Murphy, who also missed the same race 12 months ago when damaging two vertebrae in a fall on the same day that saw him unable to ride The Package, who eventually finished fourth under Tom Scudamore.

Although Scudamore is currently booked to ride Terminal for Willie Mullins, his is the likeliest name to move into the frame for the ride aboard Our Father.
