Murphy Aiming For Hennessy Return

Timmy Murphy expressed his relief after escaping serious injury aboard Inch Pride at Aintree on Sunday and is confident of being fit for the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday.

Murphy came to grief in the William Hill/Stanleybet Children In Need Handicap Hurdle when his partner, trained by Martin Pipe, fell at the final flight of the two-mile-four-furlong contest.

The rider, who was 'very sore' after the race but did not suffer any broken bones, said: 'It was quite a nasty one but that´s part of the business I´m afraid.

'I´m fine now though, and there´s nothing broken thankfully. There should be no problems for the weekend.'
