Murphy the star attraction at Listowel on Tuesday Frankie Dettori may not be stopping off at Listowel on his farewell tour but the County Kerry track will be graced by a multiple UK champion jockey as Oisin Murphy will fulfil a childhood dream by riding at the track next week. The Kerry native has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the ranks from champion apprentice to winning the Flat jockeys championship three years in a row up to 2021 and now returns to ride at his local track for the first time on Tuesday. The Listowel Race Company’s Pat Healy said, “We are delighted that Oisin is taking time out of his busy schedule to come and ride in Listowel. “It’s a childhood dream and he used to come racing with his mother Marie back in the day and he’d run around the track would you believe. “He’s never ridden in Listowel and we are delighted that next Tuesday he’s going to be riding on the island. “Come and get his autograph or your selfie with him.”
