National plans for Elliott pair

Gordon Elliott's Chicago Grey goes for the Coral Scottish National at Ayr next following his win in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

The eight-year-old relished the step up in trip to four miles at the Festival and is all set to tackle a similar distance (half a furlong further) in Scotland on April 16.

Elliott told sportinglife.com: "He's good, he's very good and he'll go for the Scottish National. He looks an out-and-out stayer and it's Ayr next for him."

The County Meath handler also confirmed the next assignment for Beautiful Sound, who was a running-on third in the Byrne Group Plate over 2m5f at the Festival.

"I'm very happy with him. We wanted him to get into the longer race but he got balloted out. He'll go for the Irish National next."
