New recruit Kerdos one to note for upwardly-mobile Thorne Stephen Thorne has put his name firmly on the training map in Ireland and finished the year off with a winner at Dundalk on Friday through Far From Dandy. The trainer discussed 2025 from his perspective and outlined horses that he is keen to get back in action when the new year rolls in. He said: "I've had a great year, I can't argue with it, that (Far From Dandy) is my 30th winner of the year. "We have had nothing but support from the Shamrock (Thoroughbreds) Syndicate and new sole owners coming into the yard. I can't thank everybody enough, my team and the people behind me, to get what we got this year and to give us a great base and grounding to let people know that we can do the job. "Sir Les Patterson is the horse we bought in July and he has been put away to target that meeting (Newcastle, Good Friday). "Of the fresh horses we bought in October, Kerdos was purchased at the Horses-In-Training Sale recently and came from Clive Cox's. "He was a Group 2 winner of the Temple Stakes (Haydock) last year, and fifth in the Group One King Charles III Stakes (Royal Ascot) this year. "As an older horse, he was in great shape when we bought him and he is a horse we are looking forward to back in Ireland in stakes company next season." Sir Les Patterson was last seen winning a 0-100 handicap by four lengths at Dundalk in late November.
