Newcastle On Tuesday afternoon's meeting at Newcastle goes ahead after the track passed an inspection. Clerk of the course James Armstrong had planned to check conditions at 8am due to a forecast overnight frost. However, he inspected a little earlier than expected and was able to give the fixture the go-ahead. He said: "The temperature did not drop as low as it could have done for as long as it could have done. There was quite a sharp dip, but the frost has not penetrated the ground. "We are lifting up the frost sheets now, we're fine to race and we're expecting temperatures of up to 3C today."
