No Blues for Ruby and father Ted

Jockey Ruby Walsh combined with his trainer/father Ted Walsh to win the feature event at Cork yesterday, the E27,000 Kevin McManus Bookmaker Hurdle, on board Heavenly Blues .

The gelded son of Kallisto raced in second before improving to lead before the straight, responding gamely to Walsh Jnr's urgings to eventually defeat Bahrain Storm by a length and a half.

Ted Walsh later reported "Heavenly Blues stays and jumps well and was entitled to win this race on ratings - the handicapper got it spot on!"

He added "we may go for a Flat handicap next and the Cesarewitch is a possibility."
