No Glory For Haydock

Resplendent Glory misses this Saturday´s William Hill Sprint Cup at Haydock after picking up an injury that will probably rule him out until next season.

It will come as a blow to ante-post punters, who backed the Terry Mills-trained three-year-old into as low as 12-1 for the six-furlong sprint yesterday.

Mills´ assistant Richard Ryan told the Racing Post: 'He´s had a setback that will probably keep him out for the season. It´s absolute agony as we think he´s the real deal.

'It´s such a shame that he did not get a tilt at a Group One this year but he´s going to be awesome when he gets the chance.'

Resplendent Glory has won six of his seven career starts and was last seen beating Lafi a short head in the Group Three Sprint Stakes at Sandown in July.
