No message about Roodeye yet for Weld's Falcon Eight Dermot Weld is assessing options under both codes for last year's Chester Cup winner Falcon Eight who was scratched from his intended engagement at the Cheltenham festival. The Galileo seven-year-old won a Thurles maiden in February on his second start over flights and would have been an interesting contender in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle on Gold Cup day but his trainer felt ground conditions were unsuitable. “He’s in good form," said Weld at the weekend. "He travelled over to Cheltenham but after all the rain we got on Wednesday we decided not to run. “I felt sticky ground wouldn’t suit him as he’s not a physically strong horse. He’s a light bodied horse, a good ground horse. I just thought tacky ground would not be for him. “We’ll look at Fairyhouse and Punchestown or he could go back to Chester where he won (under Frankie Dettori) last year.
