Nolan eyes another National bid for Discorama Discorama is being primed for another crack at the Aintree Grand National by Paul Nolan. The Saddle Maker gelding finished seventh in last year's renewal and has had a recent wind operation after his seasonal reappearance fifth in a handicap hurdle at Galway in October. Nolan said: “Discorama got a bit of a setback but is okay now again. He’s had a wind operation and it seems to be successful as we are getting ready to go with him again. “We had the Pertemps in mind but missed that Qualifier (at Leopardstown) as he wasn’t right. “The National is the main aim and we’ll have to run somewhere in a three-mile chase to qualify for it. That’s what we are looking at now so maybe something like the Bobbyjo at Fairyhouse. “He ran well in the National last year without a prep run and we felt if we had been able to get that into him he would have run far better. He finished seventh and I thought he had a chance of being placed. “He handled the fences and the owners are happy to aim there again.” Meanwhile, Cheltenham is on the agenda for Nolan's recruit from the Flat - Hms Seahorse. This Galileo colt was runner-up in a couple of maidens for Aidan O'Brien and made a pleasing start to his new career when third behind the market leaders in a three-year-old maiden hurdle on deep ground at Punchestown last month. “Hms Seahorse ran well on his first hurdle run and we’re hoping he’ll qualify for the Fred Winter," the trainer said.
