He lost a nice mare in Earthiest Words in a Fairyhouse fall recently, but the autumn into winter spell has generally been a productive one for Paul Nolan. The tightly-knit Toberona House team have plenty to look forward to, particularly with the likes of Latest Exhibition on the team.

Owned and bred by Nolan’s neighbour, Jim Mernagh at Coolamurry Stud, the Oscar gelding has hardly put a hoof wrong in a four race career to date.

Victorious in a bumper and a maiden hurdle, the six-year-old finished second when stepped up to graded company, in the For Auction Novice Hurdle at Navan on November 10th.

Though ultimately no match for Abacadabras, Latest Exhibition is very much viewed as a stayer of the future and he’ll be going out in distance after that two mile assignment.

“Latest Exhibition has come out of his run at Navan one hundred per cent. He’s taken the race really well,” said Nolan.

“He could go for the two and a half mile (Grade 2) race at Navan (on December 15) or he could wait for the Lawlors race at Naas in January.”
