The Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown could be the end-of-season target for Early Doors following his impressive racecourse debut at the track on Wednesday.

Joseph O'Brien's youngster responded to the urgings of Patrick Mullins to pull nine lengths clear in the concluding race at the County Kildare circuit.

Paddy Power introduced the four-year-old into their betting for the Champion Bumper at next month's Cheltenham Festival at 20-1, but his trainer is cool on an appearance at Prestbury Park.

O'Brien said: "He surprised me a bit, but we liked him a good bit at home. I was a bit worried about the ground as he's out of a Desert Prince mare, but he seemed to handle it well. Paddy was very positive about him when he came in.

"That's his first time off the bridle, and he was impressive.

"I don't know if we will travel over (to Cheltenham). It may not be the right thing when thinking of the bigger picture, and he could have a good chance in the sales race back here in April."
