All roads lead to the Irish St Leger for Baron Samedi after his runs in America and France over the summer.

Joseph O'Brien's four-year-old gelding landed the Grade 2 Belmont Gold Cup in June (which was his seventh victory in a row) before finishing fifth in the Group One Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud early this month.

“Baron Samedi has the Irish St Leger as his main target and may have a run before then. If he does run before it will be in the Irish St Leger Trial," the trainer said.

“He’s been in good form since returning from America.”

Meanwhile, Group One Pretty Polly winner Thundering Nights could be set for a globe-trotting campaign later in the year after that Curragh success.

O'Brien said: “Thundering Nights is on a little rest at the moment and we have no immediate plans.

“She has some options in France, Ireland and America later on in the year so we’ll be concentrating on the late summer and autumn."
