Third over six furlongs on his debut at the Curragh, Folsom Blues stepped up a furlong in trip and made all to easily win Gowran Park's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

The Blue Point colt, owned by Al Shira'aa Racing, was brought to the stands' side in the straight by Dylan Browne McMonagle and stretched clear over a furlong out to beat Lunar Empress by seven and a-half lengths.

Winning trainer Joseph O'Brien said "He was an eyecatcher the first day and we were happy that he was ready to go to seven (furlongs).

"I thought he was very impressive really and I think he's a smart colt. I suppose the Tyros would be an obvious stepping stone for him from here. Lots to look forward to, hopefully."
