One Cool Cat disappoints once again Classic flop One Cool Cat failed to redeem his tarnished reputation with a disappointing fifth place in the ladbrokes.com International Stakes at the Curragh today. The Aidan O´Brien-trained colt was having his first run since finishing second-to-last in the UltimateBet.com 2000 Guineas at Newmarket in May, for which he started the hot favourite. One Cool Cat, sent off at 1-2 for today´s Group Three contest, was settled at the back of the seven-runner field by Jamie Spencer as Red Feather set a steady early pace. Spencer tried to challenge two furlongs out and although One Cool Cat may have been a bit short of room when trying to come between horses, he could not find the necessary turn of foot to get out of trouble and stayed on at the same pace. Red Feather made all to win at 8-1, with Trefflich two and a half lengths away in second, ahead of Wathab.
