Ouija Out To Book Princess Run

Ouija Board faces a crucial gallop on Wednesday morning that will determine whether she takes her place in the Group Three Princess Royal John Doyle Stakes on Saturday.

The four-year-old Cape Cross filly has run into a string of setbacks this year and her only start saw her finish a well-beaten seventh of eight in the Prince Of Wales´s Stakes.

Lord Derby´s horse was found to have a stress fracture to her near fore in the aftermath of the York Group One in June and has not raced since, recently bypassing the September Stakes - an intended target.

Trainer Ed Dunlop rued: 'Nothing is ever definite with Ouija Board anymore. She works tomorrow and subject to that being okay, I plan to run her on Saturday.'

When asked to asked sum up Ouija Board´s season, Dunlop´s tongue-in-cheek reply was, `Not as good as last year´.

He added: 'It´s been one problem after the other. But whatever happens, she was a champion last year and if we can get her back, hopefully she can win again.'

Dunlop has both Cross Channel and Eilean Ban in the Fillies´ Mile on Saturday with the former set to take her place in the Group One.

The Newmarket trainer confirmed: 'Cross Channel is the intended runner as long as everything is fine - we have left the other filly in as a precaution.'
