Outofafrika to Fairyhouse and maybe Cheltenham! Outofafrika ran away from his rivals to post a victory in the bumper at Fairyhouse. Once Declan Lavery pushed the 'go' button outside the final furlong, the response was fairly immediate and they had their rivals in trouble. There was no stopping Outofafrika who sluiced up in the final furlong to score by six lengths at 5/1 for the Over The Sticks Syndicate. Green Hint, the 4/7 favourite, had to settle for second. This was his second career start having come home fifth on debut in a Leopardstown bumper at Christmas. Gavin Cromwell said: “I’ve always liked him. The last day he was a bit green and it turned into a sprint, but he was actually staying on well again at the line. “He was much more professional today and he had strengthened up a lot. He’s a nice horse to look forward to and I think he could be a good horse. “I was saying to the lads there that I wouldn’t be afraid to give him an entry in the Cheltenham bumper. “We’ve always liked him and that’s not a surprise. “He’s a grand simple horse and you need something like that to be able to go over and do things right in the race. I think he has the right mindset.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
