Penzance Ready To Renew Rivalries

Last year´s Triumph Hurdle hero Penzance could face a fascinating rematch with runner-up Faasel in Saturday´s Casino 36 Classic Nerak Hurdle at Haydock.

Alan King´s four-year-old came out on top by a head at the Cheltenham Festival in March and both are entered for the two-mile limited handicap at the Merseyside venue.

Penzance, a son of Pennekamp, was unbeaten in four starts over hurdles last season and is as low as 12-1 with William Hill for next year´s Smurfit Champion Hurdle.

King said: 'He wasn´t quite ready for the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton but has delighted me in the ensuing period and I´m looking forward to getting him back on the track.

'I don´t have a definite plan for him, I´ll make that after he´s run at the weekend.'
