Plenty of Irish success at Perth There was three Irish trained winners at Perth this afternoon, with Stuart Crawford (registering a double) and John McConnell on the mark. McConnell took the opening toteplacepot Six Places In Six Races Maiden Hurdle with the 5/4 favourite Enzani. Second on two of his six starts last year, the son of Cape Cross came with his challenge two flights from home and soon led, going clear on the run-in to score by six lengths under Richard Johnson. Owned by Derek Kierans, Enzani is a half-brother to Group 3 winner Eziyra, while Listed winner Eshera is another half-sister. Baby Bach, with Brian Hughes up, was Crawford's first winner in the DM Hall Novices' Chase. The seven-year-old gelding was backed from 4/1 to 9/4 on-course, and hit the front at the second last, keeping on well on the run-in to score by five lengths. Crawford completed his double with Don Franco in the toteexacta Pick The 1st And 2nd Race Handicap Chase. Richard Johnson was also bringing up a double aboard this son of Oratorio who was returned at 4/1 in the colours of the Downinmeath Syndicate.
