Power and Ash out of Nunthorpe Sole Power, the 100/1 shock winner of the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York 12 month's ago, will not bid for a repeat victory this afternoon due to the ground. Trainer Eddie Lynam has decided to take out the four-year-old son of Kyllachy, who has a definite preference for fast ground, as the going is currently good to soft. That leaves a field of 15 to go to post for the Group 1 over five furlongs as the Michael Halford-trained Invincible Ash has also been forced out on account of the going. David Wachman's Requinto is now the only Irish runner in the York feature, and the recent winner of the Group 3 Bet365 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood is also the only juvenile in the line-up.
