Prendergast 'conscious and talking' after Cork fall The IHRB have given an update on Niall Prendergast after he was tranferred to hospital following a fall in race four at Cork this afternoon. Racing was delayed at the Mallow venue with the ambulance taking Prendergast to Cork University Hospital after his fall from Jacovec Cavern in the Albert Bartlett Series Qualifier Handicap Hurdle. A statement from Dr Sarah Duggan on X read:- "Niall Prendergast is being transferred to Cork University Hospital for further assessment and observation following his fall in Race 4 at @corkracecourse. Niall is conscious and talking to medical personnel." Later in the sixth race Ellie Holder was also taken to hospital for assessment following a fall from Ain't No Sunshine in the Fengentri Handicap Hurdle.
