Proclamation Favourite For Sprint Honours Sussex Stakes winner Proclamation has been installed as the 6-4 favourite with the sponsors for Saturday´s William Hill Sprint Cup having been supplemented for the Group One contest.Jeremy Noseda has persuaded connections to spend £15,000 to add the three-year-old to the field at Haydock on the back of his tremendously impressive defeat of star mare Soviet Song last time out.It will, however, be the first time he has dropped down to six furlongs in his five-race career, with his shortest outing having been over a furlong further in the Jersey Stakes, which he also won.Frankie Dettori has been booked to ride and the Italian said: 'I have won on him over a mile at Goodwood, was banned for the Jersey Stakes and was out of action for the Sussex Stakes so it is nice to get the ride back.'Proclamation is a very good horse and is improving. I don´t feel the step back to six furlongs will be a problem - when I rode him over a mile and a quarter it was a bit of struggle!'It will be the usual cavalry charge and you need a bit of luck - the horse is well and I just hope everything goes smoothly.'Proclamation was one of 21 confirmations for the £225,000 race, which also saw Nunthorpe Stakes heroine La Cucaracha, Terry Mills´ progressive Resplendent Glory and July Cup third Etlaala standing their ground.(C) PA Sport
