Progressive Zanoosh lands Navan feature Zanoosh added to a bumper and maiden hurdle win when staying on gamely on the run-in to land the featured €45,000 Navan Handicap Hurdle at odds of 15/2. The Colm Murphy-trained mare was one of many still in contention at the second-last and challenged Hgranca De Thaix before the last. Brian Hayes’ mount proved the stronger on the run-in and kept on well to score by a length, with Son Of Anarchy putting in his best work at the finish to finish a further three-quarters of a length back in third. Murphy said, “She's as tough as old boots, and seems to handle the soft ground. We are delighted and she is only learning the game. "She is still a novice and is still unexposed. She seems to be improving the whole time. "We'll see where we go, we'll have a chat with the lads again and see. "There's a mares' race back here in three weeks that will probably be an option as well. We'll see how she comes out of it." When asked if she could be one for festivals in the spring, he replied, "She won her bumper on nicer ground and I'd say if we go nicer ground, we'll probably step her up in trip."
