Paul Nolan bagged a quick brace at Wexford this afternoon when Walking Saint landed the Racing TV Maiden Hurdle.

Eoin Staple's mount swept to the front going to the second last in the two-miler and galloped on strongly in the closing stages.

The 10/3 shot was always doing enough in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter win over 125/1 chance Burning Like Fire.

Walking Saint was dropping into an ‘unplaced' event today having shown promise in two stronger maiden hurdles earlier in the year.

"I'd say she wants further. She hit the line reasonably well,” said Nolan.

“She had been disappointing from her first run obviously and then when she qualified for this we said 'if she doesn't go well in this we're going to be in big trouble.'

“The horses are going well at the moment and that's worth anything."
