Quick-fire treble for Lee as King Cuan lands the feature Completing a quick-fire 83/1 treble for Billy Lee, King Cuan led home two rivals in the feature at Fairyhouse, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race. The winner of some valuable races as a juvenile, the Paddy Twomey-trained bay missed the entire campaign last year, finishing fifth on his return to action in the Listed Cork Stakes in April. Expected to register a fourth career win this evening, the Tasleet four-year-old was returned favourite at 10/11. Owned by the Red Lily Racing Syndicate, the 96-rated victor raced in second and eased to the front with just under a furlong to go, keeping on well from there to score by two-and-a-half lengths. Successful in this race for the last two years running, Tango Flare (9/4) had to settle for second this time around, while the front-running Rowdy Yeats (11/4) trailed home in rear. "He's a very talented horse and ran in Cork off a 500 day lay-off on quickish ground for him. I thought it was a very good run on the night and the form has been franked since," Twomey reflected. "He's strong and he's come forward. He missed all last year, so I'm delighted that he's back on track. "He's ran six times now and he's won four. Both times he was beaten on seasonal debut so he's a great horse to have. "He'll go for the Listed Belgrave Stakes, a six-furlong sprint on Derby weekend." Billy Lee was earlier successful on Germanese and Orchidaceae respectively. Additional reporting by Alan Magee
