Red Bloom For Irish 1,000 Guineas ? A final decision regarding Red Bloom’s participation in Sunday weeks Boylesports Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh will be taken over the coming weekend after trainer Sir Michael Stoute discusses the matter with the filly’s owner Cheveley Park Stud.Red Bloom, winner of the Group 1 Fillies Mile at Ascot last season, was doing her best work at the finish when taking fourth place behind Attraction in the Newmarket 1,000 Guineas 11 days ago on her seasonal debut.“No firm decision has been taken yet”, said a stable spokesperson at Sir Michael Stoute’s yard. “Red Bloom is in great shape following Newmarket and the Curragh race is up for discussion over the weekend”.Trainer James Toller is still considering a tilt at the Boylesports Irish 2,000 Guineas with Bachelor Duke. The latter is still a maiden, but he has run some terrific races in defeat and wasn’t beaten that far when finishing seventh behind Haafhd in the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas.“Bachelor Duke ran a smashing race at Newmarket and has come out of that contest in great form”, commented trainer Toller. “Ideally I would like to win a maiden with him first to boost his confidence but I won’t rule him out of the Curragh Classic. It will be decision time over the weekend”.Meanwhile, Marlborough-based trainer Roger Charlton has ruled out running Three Valleys in the Boylesports Irish 2, 000 Guineas. Three Valleys disappointed connections when he could only manage 11th place behind Haafhd at Newmarket and is likely to revert to sprinting now.Charlton is likely to be represented over Guineas weekend at the Curragh however, as Avonbridge is being targeted at the Group 2 Weatherby’s Ireland Greenland Stakes on the opening afternoon. The ground of the Guineas course was described today as good, says Racecourse General Manager Paul Hensey. “The penetrometer read 4.12 yesterday (Wednesday), and there is no rain forecast in the coming days”, commented Hensey.
