Redemption Flying Ahead Of Power Play Redemption has been given a bullish appraisal by his trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies ahead of the Paddy Power Gold Cup. The gelding, who has frequently threatened to land a big handicap chase only to be let down by his jumping, will be ridden by Carl Llewellyn in the Cheltenham feature on Saturday. He usually goes well fresh and Twiston-Davies said: 'Cheltenham is such a good draining track that despite the rain I´m sure the ground won´t be too soft and, as far as his jumping is concerned, he´s better in that department than people give him credit for.' Redemption is well down the handicap, meaning there is a possibility that he might fail to make the cut but Twiston-Davies added: 'With any luck he´ll get into the race and we´re looking forward to it as he seems to be in very good form at home.'(C) PA Sport
