Reveillez A Doubt For Cup

James Fanshawe's Reveillez, as short as 9-2 for the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham next weekend, is unlikely to run.

The seven-year-old won the Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last season and had been well supported for the two-and-a-half mile contest.

However, Fanshawe believes the JP McManus-owned gelding will not be ready in time for such a stiff test.

'(He is) unlikely to run in the Paddy Power as he won't be ready,' Fanshawe told the Racing Post.

'There are a couple of options. There's a graduation chase the day after the Paddy Power at Cheltenham, or the following week there's both an intermediate chase at Ascot or the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon.'

He added: 'He's paid the penalty for his win at the Festival as the handicapper has raised him 12lb, while decent ground is crucial to him ? he doesn't want a bog.'
