Robbie Books Festival Ticket

Wee Robbie is set for a Cheltenham Festival outing following his prominent showing at Ascot on Saturday.

Connections are undecided as to which race he will line up in, however, as the decision is likely to hinge upon the handicapper's reaction to his four-length second to Gungadu.

Sent off at 33-1 in the Grade Two Reynoldstown Novices' Chase, Wee Robbie belied those odds when beating all bar the Paul Nicholls-trained odds-on favourite.

'We don't know yet where we are going to go at the Festival but Pat (Betts, owner) always loves to have a runner there,' said trainer Nick Gifford.

'If he hadn't put in a good performance at Ascot we'd have been struggling to justify sending him there.

'We're justified now though and it's just a matter of finding the right race for him. He's in the SunAlliance Chase and he's also in the Jewson (Novices' Handicap Chase).

'I'm going to give Phil Smith (senior handicapper) a ring soon and find out what he thought of the race and he might make the decision for us.'
