< Alishan overcame trouble in running to make a successful start to his career in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Median Auction Maiden at Roscommon.

Pat Smullen tracked the leaders on the Dermot Weld-trained 3-1 chance but found himself short of room two furlongs out.

Smullen angled him out, though, and the half-brother to 2009 Irish Leger hero Alandi saw out his race well to collar Admodum and prevail by three-quarters of a length.

Smullen doubled up when Queen Alphabet got the better of Grey Sky Blue in a ding-dong tussle for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Peter Fahey's useful jumper had finished in front of her rival when second at Dundalk last month and was 2-1 favourite to confirm that form, but she really had to work to get the better of the argument after they went head to head down the length of the straight.< Synopsis (6-1) ground out victory on her return to action in the Knockcroghery Handicap.< Sweet Cherry looked the likely winner entering the final furlong but Gary Carroll went after her on Ger Lyons' lightly-raced filly, who stuck on dourly to score by three-quarters of a length, making it two wins from three career starts.< Full Court Press pulled out all the stops to reward market support in the Roscommon Handicap.

After taking the lead, Johnny Murtagh's 6-1 shot appeared to be headed by Lord Justice only to fight back in the hands of Connor King and get home by a neck.

The pick of the jumping action was the myITdepartment.ie Handicap Chase and Jack Kennedy got everything out of 11-4 favourite Rebel Cry to battle back once headed by Barry Geraghty on Sir Abbot

Jamie Codd rode a patient race on Blood Crazed Tiger in the Kepak Flat Race, but produced him with a perfectly-timed challenge and the 11-4 joint-favourite saw off Lakeside Castle by five lengths.
