Sadlers Wells passes away The iconic sire Sadlers Wells has died at the age of 30 from natural causes. The son of Northern Dancer was trained in Ballydoyle by Vincent O'Brien for Robert Sangster and won the Irish 2000 Guineas, The Eclipse and Pheonix Champion Stakes before retiring to Coolmore Stud. It was at Coolmore stud that Sadlers Wells came into his own. He was Champion sire in 14 separate years and his offspring include such greats as Galileo, Montjeu, High Chapparal, Istabraq, Old Vic and Yeats.
