Sailsbury abandonned due to waterlogging Salisbury have been forced to abandon a meeting for the first time in five years due to a waterlogged track following more heavy rain. Saturday's card was due to be of their biggest crowds of the season as it was ladies night but a further downpour overnight has left parts of the course unraceable. "We had another 13 millimetres of rain between 7-9pm last night and parts of the course are waterlogged," said clerk of the course Jeremy Martin on Saturday morning. "They are within the last two furlongs and can't be avoided, they are key areas and they have just taken enough. We've had 110 millimetres in 11 days. "It's the first meeting we've lost in five years. July 2007 was the last wet summer we had and our luck had to run out eventually."
